The Teguise City Council is initiating the procedure for hiring sports monitors for the municipal gyms, as well as the maintenance service for the facilities, with the aim of guaranteeing their correct functioning and promoting a safe and quality environment for users.
The budget for the implementation of this service is 402,007 euros, with a duration of four years, and an additional investment for the replacement of signage.
The mayor, Olivia Duque, stated that "this project is a sign of the Council's commitment to the continuous improvement of the municipality's sports facilities." "We want to offer our residents a suitable environment for practicing sports, guaranteeing the quality of the facilities."
For his part, the Councilor for Sports, Alejandro Ramírez, highlighted that "this initiative seeks to maintain the infrastructures in perfect condition and facilitate access to a professional service that guides and supports users in their physical activity."
"The health and well-being of our community are a priority, and with this contract, we want our gyms to be a benchmark in terms of excellence and sports management," concluded the councilor.
This new contract includes the presence of qualified monitors, certified as Technicians in Animation of Physical and Sports Activities (TAFAD), who will offer guidance, supervision, and design of personalized training programs for people enrolled in the gyms of La Villa, Tahiche, Tao, and La Graciosa, as well as directed functional training in the activity room of the Costa Teguise football field.
In addition, the new service integrates preventive maintenance tasks, such as periodic cleaning and lubrication of the machines, ensuring that the equipment is in optimal condition for use.
Finally, the renewal of the image of the municipal gyms will be carried out, with new signage that reinforces the institutional presence and commitment to local sports.
