Meteorological forecasts announce a drop in temperature and showers in the eastern islands for next week, in view of which, the Teguise City Council has begun its usual round of cleaning drains and filtering wells. The Consistory assures that it does so with special emphasis on the removal of leaf debris and other waste from the municipal rainwater network.

“We are starting another season with the removal of garbage and debris from the interiors of manholes and drains so that, in the event that the long-awaited water finally falls on the field, the network does not get clogged and puddles and floods form”, said the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort.

Councilman Eugenio Robayna, together with several municipal workers, is touring the points where the most debris accumulates, such as the area of the Guanapay mountain, Costa Teguise, Tahiche, Guatiza and Tiagua.

“Faced with possible currents and strong sticks of water, the best thing is prevention, that is why we are checking that everything is empty and unplugged and, if we see any damage, it is fixed on the spot”. Yes, once again, we ask for the collaboration of the population of Teguise to call us if they have to throw away pruning remains or other types of waste and use the free removal service to take it to its corresponding clean point or landfill, or call the 24-hour Immediate Intervention Operation, on the phone 689 64 75 69”, adds the councilman.
