The Teguise City Council has begun to deposit transport aid for students of the municipality for the current academic year 21/22, benefiting 635 applicants with an economic amount of about 300,000 euros.

"I congratulate all the staff of the Education, Intervention and Subsidies areas for continuing to make our municipality a benchmark in the management of aid and support for students, one more year, the first to pay this economic amount that means a break for families," says the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort.

"There has been a slight delay in the payment of aid compared to previous years because we have received more applications than those quantified in the past year, and a modification had to be made in the budget to reach all the students in the municipality who meet the requirements," says the Councilor for Education, Javier Díaz.

In this regard, Díaz points out that "we are already working on the aid for the next year 22/23, hoping that all expectations of applications will be exceeded as well, because that means that our young people are training."

Teguise thus concludes a new call for aid to students enrolled in the modalities of baccalaureate, training cycles and university studies, either outside the island or outside the municipality, which range between 150 and 500 euros depending on the applicant's place of study, and attending to principles of publicity, transparency, concurrence, objectivity, equality and non-discrimination.
