The Cabildo de Lanzarote has paid a subsidy amounting to 15,000 euros to each of the municipalities on the island, with the exception of Yaiza, which "did not request it, with the aim of promoting Lanzarote's crafts."
The financial aid, which is included in the Annex of Subsidies and in the current 'Strategic Plan of Subsidies', is mainly intended to promote craft activities, as well as for the organization and development of courses and workshops. This subsidy is compatible with others and the municipalities will have a deadline for the execution of the activities until the next December 31, 2024.
The Councilor for Commerce and Crafts, Aroa Revelo, points out that "from the Cabildo we are aware of the importance of our artisan sector and the support it needs from public administrations not only to recover the artisan manifestations of our island, but also to consolidate its maintenance, develop courses and workshops or improve, among other things, the quality and profitability of artisan production."
