The students of the Adapted Basic Vocational Training cycle of IES Teguise who are training in Auxiliary Activities in Nurseries, Gardens, and Gardening Centers have been carrying out training practices in the gardens of the city of Arrecife.
During this training day, these students carried out practical exercises accompanied by staff from the Parks and Gardens Area of the Arrecife City Council. The councilor responsible for the Parks and Gardens Department, Roberto Herbón, accompanied them along with their teachers.
This training cycle is programmed for the acquisition of a Level 1 Professional Qualification as well as the acquisition of skills that facilitate labor insertion in two academic years. They are aimed at students enrolled with special educational needs, who have a level of personal and social autonomy that allows them to access a job in their insertion into the world of work.

The Arrecife City Council, through the company awarded the contract for the maintenance and care of the municipality's green areas, flowerbeds, and gardens, has established a collaboration agreement with this institute to allow students of these courses to carry out their practical activities in the city's green spaces, as well as visits to the municipal nursery.
The Department of Parks and Gardens of Arrecife is intensifying the creation of new green areas and the planting of trees to provide the city with shaded areas.
