The Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society (SPEL)-Turismo Lanzarote held a Board of Directors this Wednesday to present the diagnosis of the Island's new tourism brand, which will aim to "reposition and unify the image of Lanzarote as a destination".

The president and Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, explained that, through this new image, the Institution "seeks to connect this brand with the work done to promote 'Lanzarote Premium', of values such as sustainability and tourism quality and the figure of César Manrique as the standard of the Island"

"The idea is to unify the different references of Lanzarote's tourism in a recognizable brand, which follows the patterns we have been working on in recent years, without losing our essence, while moving towards the model we are looking for," Corujo stressed.

"Prior to the repositioning we are looking for from the First Island Institution, we must make a diagnosis, which is precisely what has been presented at this Board of Directors held this Wednesday," the president detailed.

"We want to show ourselves even more strongly as an exclusive, differentiated destination with its own personality and open doors to new markets of higher quality and spending capacity tourists, also trying to reunify the image of the entities dedicated to these objectives in one," said Dolores Corujo.

"However, we have not done this work internally alone, but in a plural way, counting on the opinion of various tourism agents, organizing working tables and generating great interest and participation within an exciting and important project in equal parts," concluded the president.

On the other hand, in addition to the Council, a Board was held to approve the annual accounts for 2021, which were already formulated a few months ago and were definitively ratified during this meeting.
