The current senator for Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Manuel Fajardo Palarea (PSOE), reviewed the main labor problems of the island with the UGT and CCOO unions. During the meeting, the representatives of both union organizations addressed the malfunction of the Labor Inspection "and its slow response to labor complaints."

Another topic discussed was the queues at the National Social Security Institute to get an in-person appointment. Getting an in-person appointment is today a mission "almost impossible both by telephone and telematically," according to the unions, so more reinforcement personnel is needed.

Combat the digital divide

In this sense, Manuel Fajardo Palarea alluded to the PSOE's commitment to combat the digital divide, since "there are procedures that are easy to do online, but there are others in which citizens get lost and need personalized and face-to-face attention, especially the elderly."

Another issue discussed has been the strike of justice officials, who have acted "with responsibility," according to Fajardo Palarea, by calling it off during these election dates. A final issue was the delay of the justice administration in executing the sentences, which affects the normal development of the lives of those affected.

In matters of administration of justice, Manuel Fajardo conveyed to his interlocutors the PSOE's commitment to "continue the development and implementation of the 2030 Justice Plan to achieve an accessible, efficient and sustainable public Justice service, where equality between men and women and social and territorial cohesion are promoted."
