The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, revealed this Tuesday that he has no intention of extending the state of alarm, which was decreed again on November 9 for six months throughout the country.
"The objective is that once the term of the state of alarm has expired, it will not be necessary to extend it. May 9 will be the end point", Sánchez advanced, after the press conference he offered after the Council of Ministers.
The intention is that from that date, the Interterritorial Health Council, which includes both the Ministry and the Health departments of all the communities and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, will make the decisions.
In addition, Sánchez has given a new deadline for vaccination forecasts in Spain, stating that the objective of vaccinating 70% of the population will be reached "by the end of August", despite the supply problems that have occurred in these first months. He even assured that it is a "prudent prediction".
