The San Bartolomé City Council begins this Wednesday, October 23, the income of transportation and accommodation aid for students of the municipality corresponding to the 2023/2024 academic year, grants that have an investment of 323,880 euros and that aim to "alleviate the expenses that studies entail for families."
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, remarked that these confirm the fulfillment of the established objective of setting the amount that students of the municipality receive for transportation and accommodation aid at 1,000 euros and that, thanks to these efforts by the City Council, "we will contribute to reducing the expenses of 395 students from San Bartolomé."
For her part, the Councilor for Education, Estefanía Luzardo, highlighted this benefit as "fundamental to cover some of the expenses involved in studying away from home" and pointed out that "the work of the Government group will continue on the path of promoting accessible, equitable and quality education for all."
The City Council enters the aid to students of the academic year 2023-2024, in the modalities of Baccalaureate, Training Cycles and University Studies, as long as they are not taught on the Island or within the municipality, according to each line of aid.
Two lines of subsidized aid were established. On the one hand, Transportation Aid (Line 1), with a single amount of up to 120 euros for those students who pursue official studies outside the municipality of San Bartolomé, within the island of Lanzarote, and 300 euros, for those who pursue official studies outside the island of Lanzarote, a total of 109,680 euros have been allocated. On the other hand, Accommodation Aid (Line 2), which has a single amount of 700 euros for the accommodation of those students who pursue official studies outside the island of Lanzarote, allocating a total of 214,200 euros.
