The San Bartolomé City Council presented this Thursday morning a new vehicle for the Civil Protection officers of the municipality.
It is a Dacia Duster sub compact that has been fully subsidized by the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote for an amount of 14,999 euros, acquired at Juan Toledo S.L.
With this new acquisition, the Civil Protection fleet in San Bartolomé is expanded, which already had three other vehicles, which will mean improvements in the services provided by the 29 people who make up the body.
The mayor, Isidro Pérez, wanted to thank the Cabildo and the Security and Emergency Consortium for their support, reiterating "the firm municipal commitment to the Civil Protection volunteers", highlighting that this was "one of the constant requests of this group of people who work supporting at all times the work of the Local Police or Civil Guard in public spaces and events".
"Today we have proceeded to the act of handing over the keys, so it is a new goal achieved," Pérez stressed.
On the other hand, Marcos Bergaz highlights "the support for the consolidation of material benefits that are deposited in this great human team", stating that the "close and sincere collaboration between the Cabildo and the City Councils makes the Consortium stronger and the island of Lanzarote safer".
"A new example is the contribution of resources to the municipalities so that they improve the endowment of civil protections, a fundamental body in the daily lives of our neighbors", he added.
The key handover ceremony was also attended by the Councilor for Security of the City Council of San Bartolomé, Mamadou Yero Sy Cisse, the manager of the Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, Dolores Vargas and Antonio Jesús Santana, representing the Civil Protection Corps of San Bartolomé.
