The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Public Works Area, has awarded the works for the rehabilitation of the pavement of the final section of the LZ-402 road, between Las Amapolas and Caleta de Famara, an action that will involve a total investment of 420,824.40 euros, co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN). The execution period, as established in the award, is set at two months from the start of the work.
The Vice President of the Cabildo, María Jesús Tovar, and head of the Planning and Project Coordination area, stressed that this action "reflects the government team's commitment to the modernization of the island's road infrastructure." "The investment in Famara not only improves road safety, but also reinforces our commitment to an efficient management model, which keeps its word and responds to the real needs of citizens," she asserted.
"The goal is to continue transforming Lanzarote into a safer, more accessible island with infrastructure that meets the needs of its population," said the Vice President.
The Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, highlighted the importance of this project "to guarantee safety and improve mobility on one of the busiest roads on the island." "The Famara road showed significant deterioration due to the passage of time and the volume of traffic. With this award, we are responding to a historical demand from residents and users, ensuring a renewed pavement in optimal conditions for circulation," Medina pointed out.
With this action, the Cabildo of Lanzarote continues to advance in its comprehensive improvement plan for the island's roads, which aims to modernize the road network, increase the safety of drivers and pedestrians, and guarantee connectivity between all municipalities, especially on the most deteriorated roads.
