The autonomous body Red Tributaria Lanzarote, which depends on the Cabildo de Lanzarote, held a meeting of its Governing Council this Wednesday in which the budget for the year 2025 was unanimously approved, with a total amount of 4,763,000 euros.

María Jesús Tovar, councilor and president of Red Tributaria Lanzarote, highlighted the relevance of this budget, calling it "a decisive step to consolidate a close, accessible, and efficient tax administration that facilitates tax procedures for all Lanzarote residents." According to Tovar, these funds will allow significant progress in the development of various key initiatives to improve the functioning of the island's tax system.

Among the main areas of investment that will be addressed with this budget are technological improvements, continuous training of personnel, and the development of new public service channels, with the aim of simplifying and making both compliance with tax obligations and tax management more accessible. "We want to provide citizens with modern and efficient tools so that they can comply with their tax duties easily and without unnecessary bureaucracy," said Tovar.

The president also emphasized that this budget reflects a commitment to economic sustainability, not only at the institutional level but also in supporting the different municipalities of Lanzarote that are members of the Red Tributaria. "The resources will be aimed at strengthening municipal services and, in this way, helping to maintain a healthy financial balance for local administrations," she explained.

In addition, Tovar emphasized that Red Tributaria Lanzarote not only aspires to achieve more efficient tax management but also to ensure that citizens tangibly perceive the results of their economic effort. "We want the people of Lanzarote to see their effort reflected in quality public services, and for this, we need a Red Tributaria that works effectively and transparently," concluded the councilor.

With the approval of this budget, Red Tributaria Lanzarote reaffirms its commitment to providing a more agile, accessible, and equitable tax system and positions itself as a fundamental pillar for the proper functioning of municipal services and the financial sustainability of the entire island.
