Lanzarote En Pie (LEP) has proclaimed Ramiro Muñoz as its candidate for Mayor of Yaiza this Wednesday. The current LEP councilor thanked those attending the event for their support and the organization for the trust placed in his candidacy.

In this sense, Muñoz wanted to express his satisfaction for the support given because "that means that I have been doing a good job during this term. Receiving the appreciation of my LEP colleagues is an incentive that urges me to continue moving forward with enthusiasm."

The island coordinator of LEP, Leticia Padilla, emphasized the work done by Muñoz and highlighted "his commitment and responsibility to the values and principles that we have been defending for many years as a way of doing politics." Padilla also stated that "the experience accumulated during this time, the involvement in neighborhood demands and the transformative vision, together with his approachable character, make Ramiro the right profile to lead the municipal project of Lanzarote En Pie in Yaiza."

Ramiro Muñoz indicated that "the direction to follow is marked by the work started and by the municipal nature of the project, focused on citizen participation as one of the fundamental cornerstones for the construction of community. Promoting the involvement and effective participation of residents in municipal affairs is one of the main objectives that a city council must assume."

In this context, the LEP candidate stated that "there are still historical needs of the municipality that must be addressed, such as public transport, the housing situation or the improvement of social services. We need a strong council, capable of making itself heard in higher instances."

Finally, from Lanzarote En Pie they congratulate the new candidate and are pleased that the population of Yaiza "can count on a real political option and a serious and progressive alternative, with a willingness to dialogue and consensus that allows adding to project effective municipal policies."
