The vice president and councilor of Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, announces that the public company Gesplan has already delivered to the Cabildo of Lanzarote the preliminary project for the work on the Los Hervideros road, closed since 2021 due to the sinkhole that appeared on the road.
“The final document will be delivered in September, and it studies the action in addition to the sinkhole in four other critical points”, says the vice president, who thanks the company Gesplan for complying with the established deadlines.
It should be remembered that this road that connects the towns of El Golfo and Las Salinas, in the south of the island, was closed in 2021 after the appearance of a sinkhole in the middle of the road. “I made a commitment, at the beginning of the mandate, that we were going to award the drafting of the project for the reopening, and we can confirm that we have met other of the objectives set”, explains Medina.
“A few months ago I conveyed to the residents of the south, in a meeting held at the Casa Cabildo, how the situation was and the commitment of Tragsa that in September they are going to deliver the complete project”, asserts Medina.
“Now, having the preliminary project, we are sure that Tragsa will meet the deadlines and will finally present the project that will allow us to fix the sinkhole and reinforce the critical points of this road”, concluded Medina.
The execution of the project intervention will amount to four million euros, and once the Public Works area has said project, it will put it out to tender to start the works as soon as possible.
