Primero Teguise has taken stock of the first year of the municipal government, formed by Coalición Canaria, the Partido Popular and Vox, and has stated that "the tripartite plunges Teguise into the most absolute abandonment." The opposition party has pointed out that "to the lack of solutions to the serious problems that the municipality has been dragging, is added the little management carried out by the 11 councilors that make up this government."
“We still do not see improvements in the 24 towns that make up a municipality as important as ours”, said the spokesman for the municipal formation, Jonás Álvarez.
The PTG councilor has listed the list of pending tasks that the government team accumulates: “The season ends and sports subsidies have not been delivered, the cleaning contract is still not awarded and the parks and gardens worsen with the passage of time.” Jonás Álvarez, in addition, recalled that "there is still no response to the problems that the municipality has, such as having a school in barracks in Costa Teguise, lacking a sanitation network in La Graciosa or still without sewerage in most population centers."
“If we add to this a significant degradation of the network of socio-cultural centers, which increasingly need more maintenance and equipment, there is no other option than to certify an increase in the abandonment of our municipality with this new government group” Álvarez laments.
And, according to PTG, "apathy and lack of leadership and management have taken over what should be municipal action. A municipal action that stands out for the lack of coordination with the island government of the Cabildo and for the arrogance and lack of closeness with the society of Teguise that is transmitted in each public act."
“And after a year of government, our municipality not only has not advanced towards a better future, but has not been placed in the present moment either. After the arrival of this government group to Teguise, time has gone backwards and a municipality as important as ours cannot be stagnant in the past”, explained Jonás Álvarez.
The councilor of the municipal formation has raised the tone demanding “that they take the management of our municipality seriously and that they listen to the neighbors” in addition to “starting to face the challenges that Teguise has today and raising their voice and demanding what corresponds to Teguise as one of the most important municipalities in the Canary Islands, asking both the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands”.
“We have all experienced what this first year of government has been like. It has been a neglect in which they have dedicated themselves to patching and justifying passivity with a we are working on it. It is worth reminding them day after day that the opposition is doing its job and that Primero Teguise will continue to point out the priorities of each town, street by street”, concludes Álvarez.
