The Popular Party of Yaiza has denounced the "deficient state" in which the bike lane that runs from the industrial park to the El Molino roundabout at the entrance of the town of Playa Blanca is located due to the lack of lighting that affects many sections of the lane and pedestrian promenade.
The municipal spokesperson, Juan Monzón, points out the "serious neglect affecting the lighting in the area due to the breakage of lampposts and luminaires that have not been replaced and which is generating an unnecessary risk for cyclists and pedestrians who daily travel along this road".
"There is no justification for users, residents, and visitors having to suffer the consequences of what is a clear lack of management and maintenance of municipal services by the Department of Public Works," denounce the Populars.
"In the end, the government's neglect and lack of response on such basic and essential issues also ends up projecting a bad image of the town that certainly neither the residents of Playa Blanca nor the municipality in general deserve," highlights Juan Monzón, who asks himself "what sense does it make to do works that after the inaugural photos, are forgotten, are not taken care of and are abandoned to their fate due to a total lack of maintenance."
In this regard, Monzón demands from the government and the Department of Public Works, headed by Angel Lago, an urgent intervention that guarantees the correct lighting and the adequate state of this infrastructure, prioritizing the safety and well-being of citizens.
