The senator for the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, Pedro San Ginés, has announced his intention to run as a candidate for the General Secretariat of the Canarian Coalition in Lanzarote, in a process that will begin with a round of contacts with the local committees of the island to explain the reasons for his candidacy and try to gather the support of the delegates.
San Ginés thus expresses his desire to take over the baton left by Migdalia Machín, showing his gratitude and recognition for the work carried out by the still secretary general of the Lanzarote nationalists at the head of the party during the last nine years.
"She leaves a pacified, solid and cohesive situation in an organization that has managed to consolidate as a political project of reference in Lanzarote, where things are not as simple as in other formations, which either openly admit their presidential leadership or boast of an internal democracy that they do not really practice. In the Canarian Coalition, a plural and multi-participated project, combining power with different sensitivities is not an easy task, and Migdalia has done this very well, so I can only express my gratitude and congratulations to Migdalia, which I am convinced is a feeling shared by the entire organization," he stresses.
Current senator for the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote for a decade, among other positions, Pedro San Ginés wants to make the leap to the organic sphere of the party after a long institutional career. "After many years in public responsibilities, I have decided to try to assume organic responsibilities for the first time and contribute my experience to the organization in which I have grown politically."
The internal process will continue in the coming days according to the schedule planned by the nationalist formation.
