The Cabildo of Lanzarote, chaired by Oswaldo Betancort, reports that the Papagayo Campsite will remain open during Easter Week, specifically, from Friday, March 22 to Sunday, March 31.
Likewise, after the meeting held between the councilor responsible for the Camping Area and representatives of camper and motorhome associations of Lanzarote, Samuel Martín announced that the Papagayo Campsite will also remain open throughout the summer. The intention, he explained, "is to proceed with its reopening from the days before the San Juan festival until the end of September or mid-October."
"In addition, the Cabildo of Lanzarote is working on the preparation of the administrative clauses and technical specifications necessary to tender, through a bidding process, its management and thus be able to keep it open all year," said the councilor, who added that "it will soon be announced when reservations can be made, and the necessary procedures."
The Papagayo Camping Area has a total of 236 plots, of which 64 (approximately 3×4 meters) are intended for cabins and the remaining (approximately 7x9 meters) for motorhomes, trailers or large cabins. It also has plots for people with reduced mobility, located near the service areas, adapted bathrooms and a ramp to access the beach for people in wheelchairs.
The campsite has indoor and outdoor showers, sinks, water supply connections, 24-hour security service, barbecue areas, state-of-the-art treatment plant, fire protection system and photovoltaic panels that allow users to have electricity in the common areas 24 hours a day.
