The candidate of Coalición Canaria Olivia Duque has been elected mayor of Teguise with the votes of her own party, as well as with the votes of the three councilors of the Partido Popular and the Vox councilor Ginés González.
Duque thanked Oswaldo Betancort for his work at the head of the town hall and said that he faces this new challenge with the desire to "continue building a better Teguise, for which I offer my hand to all political groups that pursue the same goal.”
The new mayor pledged to "seek consensus and respect collective commitments", as well as to "defend the municipality above the acronyms", with loyalty to all residents.
The elected councilors of CC are, in addition to Duque, Mar Boronat, Eugenio Robayna, Carlos Jerónimo Cejudo, Myriam Jorge, Francisco Javier Díaz and Ana Nereida González.
The PP councilors are Rita Hernández, María de las Nieves Martínez and Alejandro Miguel Ramírez.
The PSOE councilors Marcos Bergaz, Jennifer Galán, Benito Ramón Rodríguez, Judit Fontes, Tanausú Reyes, Ángela Cañaveras, David Asorey and Sabina Inmaculada Vizcaíno have also taken office.
The councilors of Nueva Canarias, Fernando Jiménez, and Primero Teguise (PTG) Jonás Álvarez have also taken office.
