Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-bc) celebrated this Sunday the official presentation of its new Local Committee in the municipality of Yaiza, a step considered by the organization as “strategic” within the process of organic strengthening they are carrying out in Lanzarote.

The meeting, which took place at the Playa Blanca Sociocultural Center, unfolded in an atmosphere marked by enthusiasm, participation, and the will to build a political project deeply rooted in the municipality. The party highlighted that the new Local Committee is composed "of people from the town itself, individuals who have grown up, who know, and who experience firsthand the reality of Yaiza and who represent the social diversity of the municipality".

The presentation was attended by Yoné Caraballo, deputy and insular president of NC-bc in Lanzarote and La Graciosa; Natalia Santana, deputy for Fuerteventura and president of the National Bodies of the party; Ayoze Corujo, National Secretary of Organization; and Luis Migue Valiente, who officially took on the role of local spokesperson. They were joined by public officials and militants from other municipalities on the island, demonstrating - according to the insular leadership - "collective support for a project that is growing and consolidating in Lanzarote".

Yoné Caraballo: "We are preparing to transform Lanzarote in 2027"

In his speech, Yoné Caraballo stressed "the importance of this Local Committee for the political growth of the organization in Lanzarote"."Today we take a fundamental step. The consolidation of a strong Local Committee in Yaiza is essential within the strategy to strengthen the progressive nationalist space in all the municipalities of the island. Our objective is clear: to reach 2027 with the capacity to form our own group in the Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote. Only then will we be able to promote the Island-Home project that we envision for our land, more sustainable, more social, and more Canarian."Caraballo also highlighted that he will be dedicated to defending the interests of Yaiza's residents in the Parliament of the Canary Islands. Thus, he has proposed to the new Local Committee to work together "starting now" to incorporate amendments into the General Budgets of the Canary Islands for 2026 aimed at the municipality.

Natalia Santana: "We must mobilize the membership in the face of a possible early election"

The president of NC-bc's national bodies, Natalia Santana, insisted on the importance of the organization's territorial strengthening, especially in the face of a possible early general election in the first half of 2026.

"We are living in a moment of uncertainty at the state level. The possibility of an early election forces us to activate our bases and reinforce our local structures. The Canary Islands need strong, independent, and progressive representation that defends the social majority of the Canary Islands people in Madrid. The energy we have seen today in Yaiza shows that we are on the right track."

Ayoze Corujo: "The people are the force of social change"

The National Organization Secretary, Ayoze Corujo, highlighted the people's role as a "engine of transformation".

“The force that drives profound changes in society always comes from the people. When citizens organize and participate actively, transformation processes become unbeatable. This Local Committee is an example of this: a space where the people of Yaiza come together to defend their municipality and their well-being.”

Luis Miguel Valiente, new local spokesperson: “Housing, security, cleanliness, and transport: the urgent needs of Yaiza and Playa Blanca”

The new local spokesperson for NC-bc, Luis Miguel Valiente, outlined the priority lines of work that the group will undertake from today. "Yaiza has been accumulating problems for too long. Housing is an urgent need for many families; security and cleanliness require greater planning and resources; public transport must improve to be truly useful; and we cannot allow the growth of the municipality to dilute our culture, our identity, and our sense of community."

Likewise, he expressed the "commitment of the new Local Committee to citizen participation." "We want to be a useful, accessible, and transparent space. Our work will be guided by the proposals of the residents, because this project is born from them and is for them."Regarding the current governing group of Unidos Por Yaiza (UPY), Luis Miguel stated that NC-bc intends to "extend a hand to work together for the good of the municipality, announcing that they will offer constructive and consensus-based opposition."

With the establishment of this new Local Committee in Yaiza, NC-bc "reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its project in Lanzarote, consolidating another step towards the renewal of progressive and consistent nationalism".
