Nueva Canarias de Teguise is once again demanding that the conservative government group of CC, PP and Vox act to improve the public toilets of La Mareta in La Villa de Teguise, which are in a "deplorable state of health".
The Canarian councillor, Fernando Jiménez, expresses his "astonishment at the attitude of the government group, since I brought this complaint to their attention in the plenary session in September and it was rejected claiming that "they were working on it". Well, "two months later the toilets continue to deteriorate, generating a terrible image of the public infrastructures of the municipality".
In addition, NC points out that "a few days before the celebration of 'Saborea Lanzarote' in La Villa de Teguise, an event that the government group has been insisting on for its return to the municipality, the toilets are unusable, which has led to the placement of large, red chemical toilets that distort the image of the historic centre of La Villa".
For Jiménez, "it is incomprehensible that the town hall is calling for an event of these characteristics and not conditioning minimum public services. Moreover, the image they generate is one of improvisation and bad taste". However, the party insists on the "need to improve and adapt public infrastructures" in a clear commitment to a "clean and well-kept municipality". "It is about the image of public infrastructures being in line with the stately and historical image of the municipality", says Fernando Jiménez.
