Nueva Canarias in Yaiza requests the Ministry of Public Works of the Government of Canarias, responsible for the work on the Mácher road currently paralyzed, the immediate removal of the numerous iron spikes that have remained on the edge of this road, due to the risk they pose to the safety of motorcyclists and cyclists.
"Mainly we understand that they should be eliminated immediately, since the traffic in this area, especially that of cyclists who move from north to south and the prevailing wind in that town, could be the cause of a tragedy that we think can be avoided." Says Héctor Parrilla, president of the local committee of Yaiza of Nueva Canarias.
According to the nationalist formation, "these irons are located in four sections, each of them one hundred meters long, located at the height of Puerto Calero and Playa Quemada and that remained there in the same moment in which the road works were suspended".
"These iron spikes of 8 mm each are placed to delimit the margin of the road and could become a deadly weapon for a cyclist or motorcyclist in a possible fall", says Parrilla.
Finally, Parrilla points out that "the motorcyclist and cyclist collective of Lanzarote would appreciate the immediate removal of these iron pivots, so that they can circulate safely and without mishaps derived from negligence beyond them".
