New closure on another section of the maritime avenue, now due to works by Canal Gestión

The avenue of Arrecife will be cut in a new section from this Wednesday. This time, the reason is in the works that Canal Gestión is going to carry out. The section that will be closed to traffic is the end of Fred Olsen Avenue, specifically between the El Islote building, at the intersection with Guenia Street, and the bus station. "The cut of this road, which will last approximately fifteen days, is essential to continue with the work of replacing the old supply pipes that is being carried out throughout the city," says Canal Gestión.

As the company explains in a statement, the road traffic coming from the south will be able to access Arrecife entering through the same Guenia street, taking direction towards the Arrecife Gran Hotel. Similarly, those who want to access the roundabout of the Cabildo can do so through the roundabout of the bus station, which will not be affected by the works.

"Both the cuts of this section of Fred Olsen Avenue and the detours that are enabled will be signposted at all times," adds the company, which stresses that "this announcement only refers to the transit of vehicles and at no time to the suspension of the supply of drinking water in that area, unless there is a breakdown or any other incident that may arise."

"Full coordination with the City Council"

Canal Gestión Lanzarote assures that it is planning "the pace of work in full coordination with the City Council of Arrecife, in addition to directly announcing the action to the residents of the area, to which collaboration is requested in order to remove all vehicles from the affected area before 7 am this Wednesday, March 2."

"This action is included in the project of Renovation of Drinking Water Distribution Network in the Center-Old Town Area of Arrecife, which is being executed in the capital of Lanzarote in order to renovate the old supply network, currently in an obsolete state, with the aim of improving the drinking water service in the city," they explain.

In addition, Canal Gestión states in its statement that "regrets the inconvenience that these works may cause to subscribers and citizens in general" and reiterates "the need for them for the benefit of the service provided to users."
