Manolo Millares Street, on the southern exit of the capital of Lanzarote, will be reopened to traffic this weekend, according to the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, who adds that it has been "according to the forecast and execution of this important municipal work."

Yonathan de León has been supervising the execution of these works this Thursday, where the company awarded the contract for the work is resurfacing some of the sections of this neuralgic road to allow its opening to traffic during this weekend.

The integral transformation of the section of Manolo Millares Street, between La Destila school and Guenia Street, is part of a modernization project of the city of Arrecife that will contribute to improving the urban image of the capital of Lanzarote on its main exit route to the south, with the highway that connects the Lanzarote airport with the capital of Lanzarote.

The City Council's action includes trees, new lighting, street furniture and wide accessible sidewalks without barriers. Currently, the company awarded the contract is working on the new pavement on the north side of this road, where important works have been carried out in the subsoil for the channeling of the rainwater network, electrical and telecommunications connections, and the entire drip irrigation network for the trees that will be planted in the tree pits distributed on both sides of this neuralgic three-lane road.

The mayor has been visiting the area these days to be able to talk and inform the merchants and hoteliers of the street directly about the execution deadlines of the works, and the good pace of the works that are expected to be fully completed this coming autumn. The road will have three lanes, one of which will be circulating in the direction of the airport to the city center.

The capital's mayor has detailed that after the San Ginés festivities, the new phase of the transformation of Avenida Fren Olsen de Arrecife will be launched, in the section of the maritime front between the Hotel Lancelot and the El Islote building. The transformation plan of the urban image of Arrecife also includes acting on Ildefonso Valls de la Torre street, which connects Manolo Millares and Avenida Fred Olsen.
