"The conditions are not right and it is not the time to make changes shortly before the elections." This is how the councilor of the Canary Coalition in the Tías City Council, Mame Fernández, has expressed himself, who has already ruled out presenting a motion of censure together with the PSOE and San Borondón to snatch the Mayor's Office from the PP.

This Thursday, CC will hold a Local Committee where the two options that the party is considering will be put back on the table, that is, supporting the PP without entering to govern or reaching an alliance with this party. Fernández has always opted for the first of the possibilities, but has recalled that "he owes it to his Committee." What is clear is that he will not sign a motion of censure.

Although the CC councilor had expressed his intention to support the PP in matters that he considered of general interest to the municipality, after the rupture of the government group by San Borondón, on the 10th he assured that if the PP had lied to him about the FOMIT credit, he would sign the motion of censure together with the PSOE and San Borondón.

These statements were made only a few hours after the Local Committee of his party rejected this option, opting to remain in the opposition or even opening the possibility of entering to govern together with the PP. Mame Fernández assured that after adopting this decision of the Local Committee he learned of the details of the press conference offered by the former mayor, José Juan Cruz Saavedra.

In it, the former mayor denied the PP in the controversy opened between both parties over the FOMIT credit for the works on the Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen and blamed the popular formation for having to pay more than 1.5 million euros for not having duly justified the works. "The Committee said no to the motion of censure, but if they have lied to me, I am very clear about it. I will convene the Committee again," Fernández told La Voz, thus admitting that Cruz Saavedra had managed to sow "doubt" about this matter.

With respect to this matter, Fernández has limited himself to saying that he believes "the technicians, who did their job well." "The credit has to be paid and now we have to discuss the interests," the councilor has pointed out.
