"The houses in Valterra will very soon be in the hands of their rightful owners," Loli Corujo announced at the assembly with the residents of the houses, held in the neighborhood's socio-cultural center last Monday, May 22 in the afternoon.
The PSOE candidate told them that they are "in the final phase of the approval of the definitive solution to the problem derived from the ownership of the houses in Valterra." "Once the deed is collected in Madrid, the Cabildo will initiate the registration procedures in the Registry and in the Cadastre," she added.
"Right now, work is being done to define the procedure to determine the people who, legitimately, have the right to access the ownership of the houses," said Loli Corujo, who stressed: "The PSOE has fulfilled the promise made to these residents of Valterra, putting an end to decades of uncertainty."
As is known, "the Cabildo of Lanzarote is the new owner of the houses and, based on this, will grant the property deeds in favor of their rightful owners for almost 70 years," she stated. Therefore, "years of insecurity for these families who have feared for the ownership of their homes will very soon come to an end," she confirmed.
"A procedure will be opened for interested persons to submit their application and the documentation determined for a period of one month," she argued. "The residents must prove that they are the rightful owners and, subsequently, the cases will be studied and a provisional list will be approved and published in the Official Gazette of the Province," she added.
"The last step will consist of the approval of the final list and the procedures for its transfer before a notary and subsequent registration in the Registry," she clarified. "The Cabildo plans to provide aid for the expenses derived from the transfer," she pointed out.
Loli Corujo recalled that "Eva de Anta had in her hands an agreement that was broken with the arrival of Astrid Pérez to the mayor's office of Arrecife, due to her refusal to take charge of the houses." Faced with this unjustified blockage, Loli Corujo proposed that "the Cabildo take charge of these procedures, entrusting the senator, Manuel Fajardo Palarea, to close an agreement that led to the solution now adopted," she concluded.
