Unidos por Lanzarote y La Graciosa (UPLG) claims to be surprised by “the media bubbles that the disappeared mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and his misgovernment team, accomplice of so much absenteeism and indolence, continue to launch”. “Oswaldo still doesn't know what a town hall is for after eleven years in the armchair”, says Laureano Álvarez.
The party denounces that “the last excuse to appear in the media” and “continue selling smoke” is the “zero debt” of the consistory. “That degenerates into a media call more than studied on a Monday morning, press release, walk through the media and photos and videos everywhere to finish putting the mayoral ego at levels that only Parliament provides him for a long time”, they point out from the party.
“After eleven years of misgovernment by Oswaldo Betancort in Teguise, as in each legislature, touching the last year of it, press conferences begin to emerge selling smoke and projects that, coincidentally, are finalized shortly before returning to the polls”, they add from UPLG.
“Betancort disguises himself as the Wizard of Oz, appears at the end of the film, deceiving and fleeing as soon as he can. As his favorite phrase of recent weeks says, ‘More Teguise, more illusion’. Because that is what he has been selling for more than a decade, illusions, mirages and various deceptions”, they add from the party.
“After more than a decade in the Teguise armchair and leaving the municipality aside in many aspects in recent years, now it turns out that the objective of a town hall is the hackneyed and misleading ‘zero debt'”, they criticize from UPLG.
“Eleven years at the helm of Teguise, the mayor and his people unaware that the function of a town hall is not to have zero debt, but to provide the necessary services to the population, even if that means going into debt. Well, although they unfortunately do not know it after eleven years of governing, the Law allows town halls to go into debt”, they point out from the formation.
“The cynicism that emanates from the mayor's smoke sale is even greater, drum rolls to present a zero debt campaign when it is known by all that this group of misgovernment in Teguise has requested loans, so that passion when talking about ‘zero debt’ remains in something similar to a third-rate theater, more bread and circus for the population of Teguise, which suffers from the deficiencies of a municipality that is getting worse but with a misleading ‘zero debt'”, the formation concludes.
