As part of its commitment to youth and education, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the areas of Education, Culture and Youth, coordinated respectively by Ascen Toledo, Jesús Machín and Aroa Revelo, launches two new projects that add to the successful program Eres Lanzarote, influencer de tu Casa.
These proposals also have the collaboration of the social communicator and director of the project, Amalia Martínez Fajardo, whose role has been key to connecting with the younger generations, and who this Tuesday accompanied the councilors involved in the presentation of the latest proposals of the year of an integral project.
“Government of Chinij@s”
This initiative, the fifth piece of the project, will be moved to an interactive exhibition format that can be visited from December 18 until the end of January at the Casa de la Juventud in Arrecife. The proposal invites the children of Lanzarote to reflect on fundamental concepts of democracy and the Welfare State.
The exhibition will address topics such as the destination of taxes and their impact on essential public services: how much does a medical appointment, a park swing or a garbage container cost? Young people will also be able to imagine how they would diversify the island's economy if they were presidents for a day. All this with a playful and dynamic approach adapted to the new times, which seeks to inspire and raise awareness about the importance of public policies.
The official presentation will take place on December 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Casa de la Juventud.
“Picón Urbano 928/35500”
Urban music, the most popular genre among young audiences, becomes the perfect vehicle to transmit social and historical values in the sixth and last piece of the project Eres Lanzarote, influencer de tu Casa this year 2024.
Picón Urbano 928/35500 brings together local artists who, through unpublished songs, will pay tribute to the most important corners and historical figures of Lanzarote, from Zonzamas to the Díaz Rijo brothers, passing through our fishermen, farmers and other fundamental elements of the island's identity.
The event, which promises surprises and gifts, will include the presentation of these unpublished songs, a talk about music and values, and a dance piece with a powerful social message. Because, as they emphasize from the Cabildo, “music with values sounds better, much better”
The presentation will take place at the Casa de la Juventud of Arrecife on Thursday, December 19, at 6:00 p.m.
