The César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport will be connected this winter for the first time through direct regular flights with Lisbon, Naples, Bratislava and Wroclaw. From this month of November, Ryanair has started operating three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) with the Portuguese capital, and will also maintain a weekly flight (on Saturdays) with Naples and Bratislava, capital of Slovakia. For its part, Wizzair will inaugurate its route with the Polish city of Wroclaw (Breslavia) on December 22, with a weekly frequency (Wednesdays).
These unprecedented regular connections for the island are part of the total of 13 new routes that airlines have added to their operations with Lanzarote corresponding to the winter season, 11 of which begin this month of November and two of them will do so in December.
Specifically, Ryanair has also started operating these days with Marseille (Mondays and Fridays), Turin (Tuesdays and Saturdays) and Venice Treviso (Wednesdays); while Wizzair has also added links with Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino (operative in both cases on Wednesdays and Sundays).
For its part, Lufthansa and Jet2 have added new connections with Frankfurt and Bristol respectively, which will operate Thursdays and Saturdays. Finally, Vueling has incorporated a route with Amsterdam (Fridays) and from December 4 will do so with Copenhagen (Saturdays).
In this sense, the president of the Cabildo, Mª Dolores Corujo, highlights that "after such a difficult period as the one we have gone through, Lanzarote will have the best connectivity in its history this winter, thanks to the intense work that we have carried out from the Cabildo in order to promote the tourist and economic reactivation of the island"
For his part, the island councilor for Tourism Promotion, Ángel Vázquez, points out that "the incorporation of these new connections by the airlines shows that Lanzarote is a leading and safe destination, which generates confidence and is highly appreciated by both the main operators and the tourists themselves."
These routes will be part of the 555 weekly operations that a total of 35 airlines plan to carry out at the Lanzarote airport between the months of November and April. This winter the island will be directly connected with 86 airports in 19 countries.
