Lanzarote En Pie (LEP) will request the Arrecife City Council plenary session to create a Sectorial Council of Culture for the promotion and fostering of municipal culture, for which it will demand "the initiation of the necessary administrative procedures for its implementation".

For the spokesperson and candidate for Mayor of Arrecife, Leticia Padilla, this tool "would be very valuable to promote and foster culture in our municipality, since it would mean opening a space for local residents, artists and cultural organizations to work together to develop and support initiatives in favor of culture in the city."

For the municipalists of LEP, the Sectorial Council of Culture "will have to be composed of representatives of various cultural sectors, such as performing arts, literature, music, heritage, cinema and other relevant fields, ensuring a broad representation of interests and perspectives."

"Its main function should be to propose and debate measures that promote accessibility, dissemination and promotion of culture in society, as well as in the development of cultural programs and projects that promote enrichment and cultural plurality," they argue from LEP.

In this sense, Padilla states that "the creation of this Council will guarantee the efficiency and suitability of the cultural offer to the needs of the community, proposing the necessary improvements and adjustments to optimize resources and ensure that cultural initiatives are sustainable."

"It is a powerful instrument to improve the cultural and artistic management of the municipality. "It will help to develop policies and programs, facilitate collaboration between artists and cultural organizations, promote cultural tourism and the heritage of Arrecife; it is a democratic instrument for the coordination and evaluation of contests, calls, awards, etc., with independent and impartial juries," says the municipal spokesperson.

To conclude, she wanted to emphasize that "the possibilities are many and it can be a valuable tool to promote creativity, diversity and cultural development of the community. An instrument "that recovers citizen participation for the construction of the cultural identity of the city".
