The Cabildo de Lanzarote, through the Area of Social Welfare, and in collaboration with the Asociación Mujeres sin Sombra, organizes the I Conference The Value of Caring to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated this Tuesday, December 3, in the Assembly Hall of the Corporation.
This event, which is included in the framework of the Island Strategy for Accessibility and Inclusion, will bring together experts, associations and entities that will address the needs, challenges and challenges of caregivers.
The Minister of Social Welfare and Inclusion, Marci Acuña, explains that "these conferences seek to revalue the figure of the caregiver, whose daily role and emotional support to people with disabilities is invaluable." In this sense, the Minister stresses that "the goal is to provide them with the tools and emotional support necessary to ensure their self-care, as empathy and understanding towards caregivers is a fundamental part that we must not forget to build an inclusive and respectful society."
Program
The inauguration of these I Conferences The value of caring will be given by the Minister of Social Welfare, Marci Acuña, and the president of the Canary Association Women Without Shadow, Lucía Ballesteros. The program will continue with the presentation Living with a rare disease or without diagnosis: needs of people and their families, challenges and challenges, by the president of the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (Feder), Juan Carrión Tudela.
In addition, there will be interventions such as the Association for the Development of Nursing and Comprehensive Care (Adeci) or Sergio García Tejera, which will address issues such as accompaniment in pain and serious illness. There will also be a round table in which representatives of associations will share their experiences on the care of people with disabilities.
