The island of La Graciosa has recently inaugurated an outdoor exercise area. The Teguise City Council has installed four bio-healthy devices for seniors in García Escámez Park, in Caleta de Sebo.
The mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, traveled to the eighth island to supervise this installation of exercise equipment and was received by the councilor for La Graciosa, Alicia Páez.
The City Council has recalled that these devices had been requested by the Citizen Council, a citizen participation body that "plays a fundamental role in knowing the reality of La Graciosa", according to the mayor.
The investment has been around 4,000 euros and it is expected that in the devices the elderly "can exercise in a smooth and safe way, as they are low impact and controlled movement elements", according to Alicia Páez.
