The Cabildo of Lanzarote informs citizens of the road closures that will occur during Saturday due to the celebration of the XXXII Ironman Lanzarote.
In this sense, the Island Corporation asks citizens to respect the provisional signs, as well as the alternative detours during the route, and apologizes in advance for any inconvenience caused.
In the municipality of Tinajo, the affected roads will be the LZ-67 (Yaiza-Mancha Blanca); Mancha Blanca Avenue and Tinguatón Street, which will be closed between 08:30 and 13:30 hours. In addition, the LZ-56 (Mancha Blanca - La Geria) will be closed between 07:30 and 18:30 hours. It is also important to note that access to the Timanfaya National Park will be disabled between 08:00 and 13:30 hours.
As for the municipality of Yaiza, the LZ-30 (La Geria-Uga) will be closed to traffic between 07:30 and 11:30 hours, while La Geria street and the section of the LZ-2 between Uga and Yaiza will be closed between 07:45 and 12:00 hours. In addition, the section between Yaiza and Playa Blanca of the LZ-2 will be closed between 07:45 and 13:00 hours, with access to the south of the island only possible through Femés.
San Bartolomé will be affected by the closure of the LZ-30 (Masdache - La Villa de Teguise) between 08:30 and 18:30, and it is also important to highlight that access to and exit from the Farmer's Monument will be through Los Reyes street, and the recommendation to citizens to avoid the use of bicycles or electric scooters through Playa Honda, as this will be where the race route will pass.
The municipality of Tías, where the race starts and ends, will have Las Playas Avenue -between Guanapay Street and Yugoslavia Street- closed between 06:00 and 01:00 hours the following day; while traffic will also be closed between Yugoslavia and Marte streets from 11:00 to 01:00 hours on Sunday. In addition, Norway Street will also be closed between 07:00 and 19:00 hours.
The LZ-40, the road that connects the airport and Puerto del Carmen, will remain closed between 07:00 and 19:00 hours on Saturday. In addition, within the urban area of Tías, the Camino Hoya Limpia will be closed to traffic between 06:30 and 19:00 hours, while the Central Avenue of Tías will also be closed between 07:00 and 19:00 hours.
The municipality of Tías is also affected by the closure of the LZ-501 (Los Lirios - La Geria) between 07:15 and 19:00 hours: the LZ-30 (La Geria - Uga), between 07:30 and 11:30 hours; as well as the section of the same road between La Geria and Masdache between 08:30 hours and 19:00 hours. In addition, the LZ-56 (Mancha Blanca - La Geria) will remain closed between 07:30 and 18:30 hours, while the LZ-30, between Masdache and the Farmer's Monument, will be closed between 08:30 and 18:30.As for the municipality of Teguise, in addition to the previously announced closure of the LZ-30, it is worth noting the closure of Bentejui, Guayadeque and Leandro PErdomo Spínola streets between 09:00 and 13:00 hours; as well as José Betancort street between 09:00 and 17:30 hours. On the other hand, the LZ-10 (La Villa - Haría); the LZ-404 (Guatiza - La Villa); and the LZ-1 between Arrieta and Guatiza will be closed between 10:00 and 17:00 hours. In addition, the service road between Tahíche and Guatiza will be closed between 09:00 and 17:30 hours.
Finally, the roads affected in the municipality of Haría begin with the closure of the LZ-10 (La Villa - Haría) between 09:00 and 17:30 hours. In addition, El Palmeral, La Cilla, La Cruz, María Herrera, Pórtico de Bonilla, Santa Bárbara and San Francisco streets will be closed between 10:00 and 15:30 hours.
Likewise, the LZ-201 (Máguez - Ye); the LZ-202 (Hoya de la Pila - Mirador del Río); and the LZ-203 (Mirador del Río - Ye), will be closed to traffic between 10:30 and 16:00 hours. The LZ-201 (Ye - Arrieta) will also be affected between 10:30 and 16:30 hours and the aforementioned LZ-1 between Arrieta and Guatiza between 10:00 and 17:00 hours.
