"The State Government will extend the Housing Plan for one more year, that is, until the end of 2017," as confirmed in the Senate by the Minister of Development himself, Iñigo de La Serna, in response to the question asked by the Popular Parliamentary Group. In addition to confirming this, De La Serna also provided the data currently handled by the Ministry on the Housing Plan, which, he announced, "will benefit nearly 100,000 families. The aforementioned plan, endowed with 321 million euros, contemplates the rehabilitation of some 35,000 homes and the creation of 13,000 jobs."

Although the program will be specified in the sector conference on December 15, the Minister of Development has expressed his commitment to initiate new rehabilitation plans, continue with existing ones, and allocate new financial files for rental assistance.

For the Lanzarote senator, Joel Delgado, this is "excellent news for the residents of Arrecife, as the City Council will be able to request an extension of the previous housing plan and begin the rehabilitation of homes in the neighborhoods of Titerroy and Valterra."

According to Delgado, the regulations to be applied will be practically similar to those of previous plans, "which will make it easier and more accessible for technicians and officials who are already familiar with the requirements."

However, the Senator for Lanzarote is once again offering his services to the municipal government to help them process this new file. "It is essential that this time we all manage to rehabilitate our stock of protected housing and generate economic activity and jobs with it, while dignifying the lives of the people who live there," says Joel Delgado.
