Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-bc) has achieved the commitment of Health for the incorporation of a permanent pediatrician in the municipality of Haría, a "historic demand" of the nationalist training and of the families of the north of the island.

The local spokesperson for NC-bc and councilor for Health in the municipality of Haría, Marcos Lemes, and also deputy in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Yoné Caraballo, visited the Mala Health Center together with the Directorate of Health Area of Lanzarote, where they addressed the main health needs of the northern region.

During the meeting, health officials conveyed their commitment to provide stability to the pediatrics service in Haría, thus responding to a demand repeatedly made by NC-bc due to the lack of a permanent specialist to guarantee continuous care for the children of the municipality.

Likewise, Lemes and Caraballo once again called for the implementation of a 24-hour Continuous Care Point (PAC) at the Mala Health Center, emphasizing the need to strengthen emergency care in a region that has experienced population growth and which, especially during peak tourist seasons, sees increased healthcare demand.

On the other hand, the Canaristas celebrated the improvement in coverage for specialties such as pulmonology and endocrinology, a demand that the northern health council had been conveying to the Ministry of Health for more than two years. This service will be provided like any other specialty, with Health assigning residents of the north within this care circuit, which will avoid unnecessary travel to the rest of the island.

During the visit, it was also reported on the forecast of incorporating a sanitized ambulance for the northern region, another historic demand that, if materialized, will represent a key reinforcement for the response capacity to health emergencies.

From NC-bc they value these advances as "the fruit of constant work and permanent dialogue with the health administration, and they assure that they will continue to be vigilant so that the acquired commitments translate into real and effective improvements for the citizens of the north of Lanzarote".
