The municipality of Haría will have, starting next July 1st, a permanent operational fire brigade operating 24 hours a day, an essential resource to improve response to risk situations and reinforce the safety of the population.

The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, highlights that "today a request that the City Council has defended for years is being answered, and it will allow for greater protection for residents and visitors." He also thanks the Security and Emergencies Consortium "for the sensitivity shown in addressing a strategic need for the municipality."

The deputy mayor, Evelia García, points out that "the incorporation of these personnel represents a very important step forward for Haría, as it will reduce intervention times and improve effectiveness in any action." Likewise, she thanks the Consortium for its commitment to providing the municipality with a service adapted to its needs.

The implementation of this device responds to the singularities of the municipality's territory, such as its large size, the presence of three tourist centers, the port of Órzola, the numerous kilometers of coastline, and the distance to the nearest fire station. These circumstances have led the Security and Emergencies Consortium to consider the implementation of this resource in the north of the island as a priority.

The operation will be distributed between two bases, located in Arrieta and in the town center of Haría, which will allow for faster coverage of any incident that occurs within the municipal term.

The teams will have specialized vehicles prepared to intervene in both land and sea operations, offering a response adapted to the geographical characteristics of the municipality and the diversity of emergencies that may occur.
