The Haría City Council has opened the deadline to apply for transportation assistance aimed at students in the municipality who have studied outside the municipal area during the 2023/2024 academic year. The call, published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 91, establishes a period of one month for the submission of applications until August 30.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, stressed that "these aids represent an important support for the families of the municipality, who in many cases must face the added cost of sending their sons and daughters to study abroad."
"It is a commitment that we maintain with the educational community of Haría and with access to training in equal conditions," said the mayor.
For her part, the Councilor for Education, Evelia García, recalled that the government group is working to ensure that aid is called within the appropriate deadlines.
"Our goal is for scholarships to be awarded in the same academic year to which they correspond, so we are already working on the calls for the 2024/2025 academic year, which will be released before the end of the year," the councilor reported.
This line of aid aims to financially support students registered in Haría, who are enrolled in official face-to-face education in high school, vocational training, university studies, master's degrees or postgraduate degrees, and who must travel outside the municipality.
Applications must be submitted preferably through the electronic headquarters of the Haría City Council. Together with the application, it will be necessary to provide the required supporting documentation, such as the identity document, the registration of the corresponding course, the proof of payment of fees, the responsible declaration of the requirements and the registration of third parties.
