Haría joins the Spanish Network of Destinations for Diversity for its commitment to the LGTBI+ community

With this incorporation, the municipality becomes part of a constantly growing network that promotes training, digitization and accessible tourism policies, preparing destinations for the challenges of the future

The Haría City Council officially joins the Spanish Network of Destinations for Diversity (REDD), the platform that leads the promotion of inclusive and sustainable tourism aimed at the LGTBI+ community.
This adhesion represents a firm step towards the projection of the municipality as a welcoming place committed to inclusion as an engine of local development.

The incorporation has been possible thanks to the work of the Department of Tourism and Equality of Haría, which promotes a clear strategy for transforming the tourism model. As the mayor, Alfredo Villalba, pointed out, "being part of REDD allows the municipality to move towards a tourism that values ​​diversity as an engine of development and coexistence."

The adhesion was made official during the gala of the ninth edition of the Diversa Awards, held in Madrid on June 6. During the meeting, a plaque of recognition was given to the Councilor for Tourism of the council, Nuria Acuña, by the director of the REDD project and the LGTBI+ tourism consultant JN Global Proyect, Nano García.

During the event, Councilor Acuña stressed that this incorporation "makes the LGTBI+ community visible and allows us to work hand in hand with companies, institutions and communities committed to real change."

She also stressed that "one of the next challenges will be to involve the local business community: hotels, shops, small businesses, to consolidate an egalitarian, integrating and competitive destination."

This action is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, promoting the reduction of inequalities and the development of more inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities.
