The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, and the councilor of the Technical Office, José Torres, held a meeting this Thursday, February 6, with the senator for the island of Lanzarote, Manuel Fajardo Palarea, with the aim of accelerating the procedures for reviewing the boundaries of the coastal areas in the municipality.
Alfredo Villalba assured that "the City Council will take the necessary steps to speed up the procedures and ensure that these inspections are carried out as soon as possible." "This is an important step for the protection and development of our coastal areas," he concluded.
For his part, Manuel Fajardo Palarea stated that "this verification is fundamental to guarantee that the 20-meter width established is respected in order not to negatively affect the sustainable development of the coasts."
The Ministry of Ecological Transition, through the General Directorate of the Coast and the Sea, will review the boundaries of the municipality.
This exploration will accredit that the part of the municipality's coastline complies with the requirements for the protection easement of the coastal areas to have the width provided for in the Transitory Provisions of the Coasts Law and its General Regulations for application.
