The Haría City Council has agreed to initiate the procedures to cede municipal land to the Canary Housing Institute for the construction of publicly promoted protected housing in the plenary session held this Wednesday morning
The initiative, approved unanimously, has as its main objective to resolve the housing crisis that exists in the archipelago. The land, with inventory number 110069 of Assets, Rights and Obligations, is located in Punta Mujeres.
The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, underlined the great progress this measure represents for the municipality, which ratifies the commitment to the citizenry. "Today is a historic day for our municipality that, without a doubt, responds to the needs of our neighbors." Likewise, he thanked the work carried out by the technicians and the political consensus to "make this much-demanded project a reality," he pointed out.
For his part, the councilor of the Technical Office, Pepe Torres, highlighted that it is a solid file, which complies with all the legal guarantees for building on the plot. "It represents a great opportunity to increase public housing in Haría," he pointed out.
With this type of initiative, the City Council fulfills the commitment to incorporate housing policies, in addition to responding to the need to solve Lanzarote's housing crisis
