The deputy mayor of Haría, Evelia García (Municipal Platform of Haría), responsible for the areas of Social Welfare and Education of the municipality, has assured that "everyone is delighted" with the municipality's summer conciliation camps.

The representative has assured that they serve minors from a hundred families and that the council has not received any complaints about the treatment of students with specific needs.

García thus responds to the complaints of a family with disabled minors who have publicly denounced that their children were transferred from the Arrieta school to the Haría school "without a period of adaptation and without planning to understand their needs".

In relation to this situation, Evelia García has explained that the municipality's conciliation camps have been divided between the Arrieta and Haría schools because works are being carried out in the dining room of the Arrieta educational center. For this reason, the councilor has explained that they have only been given two classrooms in this space, so "almost the entire weight of the camp is in the other educational center," that is, in Haría.

"Where the largest number of monitors is, is where the children with specific needs are," not only children with specific educational support needs, or children with autism spectrum disorder, but also the "youngest," she indicated.

The deputy mayor of Haría has explained that even if parents had requested the Arrieta center due to proximity, they would be assigned to the Haría school because "it is where the adapted, more accessible spaces are, and where the largest number of specialized monitors are."
