The Environment Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has carried out the complete renovation of the signage of the Natural Monument of Los Ajaches, one of the most emblematic and protected natural spaces on the island, and which is located in the municipality of Yaiza.

This action responds to the need to update and improve the informative signage, which was notably deteriorated due to the passage of time and inclement weather. In fact, the Environmental Agents of the Island Council detected the poor condition of the signage present in the Natural Monument of Los Ajaches, as well as other signs located in the Protected Natural Space in the municipality of Yaiza, warning that this deterioration in the informative signage on uses and prohibitions in these spaces continuously causes visitors to make irregular or unauthorized uses with negative consequences on them.

The Minister of the Environment, Samuel Martín, has underlined the importance of this initiative as a key tool for awareness and education environmental awareness of visitors. "The Natural Monument of Los Ajaches is not only a geological and landscape treasure, but also a space of enormous ecological value. It is essential that all those who visit it are aware of the environment that surrounds them and respect it," declared the councilor.

Martín highlighted that the new signage has been designed with more resistant materials and with informative content that not only guides the visitor, but also educates them about the fragility of this natural environment. "We want each person who travels through Los Ajaches to understand that they are in a unique place and that its conservation depends, to a large extent, on the small actions of each one of us," he added.

The renovation of the signage is part of a broader plan for the conservation and maintenance of the natural spaces of Lanzarote, and is part of the "Cabildo's commitment to the preservation of the island's natural heritage", according to the first institution in a press release.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote continues working so that residents and tourists can enjoy nature responsibly, always promoting respect and protection of our fragile environment.
