The Court of Instruction No. 3 of Arrecife has decreed the provisional dismissal and filing of the case in which alleged racist comments were attributed to the Deputy Mayor of Arrecife and spokesman for the Canarian Coalition, Echedey Eugenio, being "fully accredited that such statements are unfounded."

In the judicial order, the magistrate-judge highlights that, after listening to the recordings provided, "the expressions of Mr. Echedey Eugenio Felipe are beyond any doubt in relation to racist, classist or anti-Semitic hints, because the expression 'garbage' is directed at the political action of the ruling political party (PSOE)."

Likewise, the order underlines that "the expressions made by Mrs. Ariagona lack rigor with what happened", referring to the fact that they are "far from" what was really expressed by Echedey Eugenio.

The court concludes that "there is no justification to consider that the facts constitute a criminal offense and that the probative material is insufficient to defeat the presumption of innocence, so the case should be dismissed."

Faced with this resolution, Echedey Eugenio has already put in the hands of his legal services to appeal to the Provincial Court and announces that he will request that the damage caused by the statements of Ariagona González to his public figure be compensated, for injuries to honor and image.

“Not everything is valid in politics. It is essential that the public debate is based on rigor and respect, and not on the interested manipulation of words to obtain political gain. Justice has made it clear that I never made racist comments and that the accusations against me were unfounded,” emphasizes the nationalist leader.
