The Cabildo of Lanzarote publicly expresses its sincerest congratulations to the Lanzarote designer Ángel Cabrera, a designer and multidisciplinary artist integrated into the Lanzarote Moda program, for having been recognized on Thursday night with the Sustainable Fashion Project Award in the second edition of the Isla Bonita Fashion Awards for Made in La Palma Talent, an event promoted by the Development Society of the Cabildo of La Palma.

Representing the Island Institution, Councilor Miguel Ángel Jiménez traveled to La Palma to accompany this outstanding professional from the textile and aesthetic sector of the island of volcanoes, who has managed to conquer the jury in one of the categories with his artistic and ethical proposal in the world of fashion.

"The recognition of Ángel Cabrera is a source of pride for all of Lanzarote. His work, based on sustainability, innovation, and deep respect for the identity of our island, is a clear example of how fashion can be made with soul, with roots, and with environmental awareness," said Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who also wanted to highlight "the boost that Lanzarote Moda is giving to local talent".

For her part, the Councilor for Industry and Commerce of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Aroa Revelo, has emphasized that "this award not only recognizes the artistic quality of Ángel Cabrera, but also the commitment of an entire generation of creators who are betting on a more sustainable industry linked to the values of the territory. Lanzarote is thus positioned as a benchmark for fashion with its own identity, innovative and responsible".

During the gala, held in La Palma, Ángel Cabrera was emotional and grateful: "Thanks to Isla Bonita for having noticed this person... We will continue working to continue with the cochineal, to continue using natural dyes, trying to sustain what we have to sustain," said the creator, whose work is a fusion of art, nature, and design.

The Isla Bonita Fashion Awards for Made in La Palma Talent celebrate the creativity and effort of professionals in the sector, recognizing work in eight categories that include fashion brands and models, as well as makeup, hairdressing, photography, audiovisual creation, digital content, new talents, and sustainable projects. This edition also paid tribute to the artisanal legacy with the presentation of the Honorary Award for Talent to Pedro Ferreiro Rodríguez, for his brilliant career in author jewelry.

About Ángel Cabrera

Born in Lanzarote, Ángel Cabrera is an artist who transforms the landscapes, colors, and textures of his native island into unique pieces of fashion and art. His creative process starts from artisanal and sustainable techniques, using natural dyes made from cochineal and native plants, which he applies to fabrics such as silk, linen, cold wool, and velvet.

"Art is my way of telling stories, of capturing emotions, and of transforming the everyday into something extraordinary. Each piece is a reflection of my vision, an invitation to explore beauty in all its forms," describes Cabrera himself from his creative universe.

Recently, the designer has been again distinguished with the SICTED seal, a recognition of tourist quality and the differentiating experience.
