Ciudadanos (Cs) has demanded this Monday to the Teguise City Council to "launch a plan to reopen the markets in the municipality." This was stated by the coordinator of Cs in Teguise, Raquel Hernández, who recalled that "since phase 1 of the de-escalation, the markets can be installed, but it is the power of each city council to launch them.”

In this regard, she regretted that "the municipal government does not take into account this activity on which the income of many families depends", and pointed out that "it seems that they have forgotten that there are many residents, and not only tourists, who come to this type of business, especially to agricultural markets."

"They were already letting the Costa Teguise market die, but now it seems they want to bury this activity," criticized Hernández, who believes that "it is unacceptable that the city council does not know when the stalls can be set up."

In this sense, she points out that "the Mancha Blanca market can be taken as an example, which has been opened with the appropriate security measures.”

For all these reasons, and because Ciudadanos considers it "essential to reactivate and boost the economy in the municipality", she has asked the Teguise City Council for "a reopening plan to be able to launch the markets with total security in the municipality."
