On the same day that a new PP-CC pact has been confirmed in the Tías Town Hall, the socialist councilor Antimo Valiente has made public his intention to leave the socialist group and move to the non-attached in the Consistory. According to what the councilor himself confirmed to La Voz, last Monday he already presented "his resignation as a PSOE councilor in his party", which has asked him to hold a meeting. While waiting for that meeting, he has not yet presented the letter to the Town Hall, although this Wednesday he was in the Secretariat informing himself of the steps to follow.

"I want to continue working for the municipality, but it seems I cannot do it from my party," says the councilor, who maintains that he has been feeling "uncomfortable" in the municipal socialist group for almost "a year and a half." "I feel totally useless", he explained to La Voz. According to the councilor, during this time he has been "waiting and waiting", but he considers that he has to "make a decision, even if it is drastic."

Specifically, Valiente has pointed out that "discrepancies" have arisen with the Local Committee of Tías and also with some colleagues" and he has felt that his work "was not worth anything". Among other things, the councilor has pointed out that he "does not share" how the primaries have been carried out in Tías, which were held last weekend. In this municipality, two candidates were presented and Antimo Valiente supported the one who lost those primaries, Juan Félix Eugenio. However, he has also assured that there are "many things", which in their day "will be told", such as the commissions in which "they put you and take you away", facts that "make one feel bad".

Regarding the island leadership of the party, he has indicated that he has spoken with the general secretary, María Dolores Corujo, and they are waiting to have a new conversation "in these days". "I am waiting to meet with the party. I want to leave the party well because I do not agree with what is being done in Tías and that's it", he indicated. However, he has advanced that he "does not believe" that there is a turning back because the decision is "made and well made".

Valiente has been a PSOE councilor in the opposition since the beginning of the current legislature, and he also had responsibilities in the areas of Street Market and Municipal Radio, after the first abandonment of Juan Félix Eugenio in 2006.
