The General Directorate of Coasts and the Sea has begun this Thursday to demolish the area of the Aparthotel Fariones Playa - located in Puerto del Carmen - that invades the public maritime-terrestrial domain.

The ruling that supports this action and had not yet been executed is from October 2002 and refers to a sanctioning file initiated by Costas in 1990.

This resolution states that the hotel invades 40 square meters of public domain area, in a semicircular construction that belongs to a bar, to which must be added another 700 meters of terraces and gardens, occupying a part of Playa Grande.

Likewise, it is also located on the maritime-terrestrial easement strip: regarding the transit easement, the building invades 256 square meters and the gardens 1,110 more, while of the protection easement, which occupies another 1,010 square meters and the terraces almost 1,800 more.

Based on this situation, officials from the entity and operators are already in the tourist complex fencing off the area with fences, to begin demolition work in the coming days.

For its part, the property has moved to the aforementioned bar to remove belongings.
