Coalición Canaria (CC) Yaiza has accused in a press release Óscar Noda of "hiding relevant information from the public" during the neighborhood meeting he recently held to address the conflict of the Uga wall, in what the local secretary and spokesperson for the nationalist formation, Emilio Machín, describes as “a new episode of lack of transparency on the part of the mayor”.
“Óscar Noda concealed in said meeting that the Canary Islands High Court of Justice (TSJC) itself has reflected its neglect in the defense of Yaiza's interests in the ruling it issued, forcing the City Council to demolish the wall that prevented access to the disputed plot”, denounces Machín.
In this regard, the TSJC “reflects the inaction of the mayor by not presenting the exchange documentation in the trial where the private ownership of the plot and the right of the property to its enclosure were determined, as well as for not appealing this sentence,” underlines the local secretary and spokesperson for the nationalist formation.
“Lack of interest”
“This lack of interest in defending the interests of the residents of the municipality caused said sentence, which dismissed the municipal ownership of the plot, to enter the execution phase, which invalidated the mayor's subsequent attempt to correct his inaction by submitting the exchange documentation out of time, as stated by the TSJC and of which he did not inform at the meeting,” he adds.
Finally, Emilio Machín emphasizes that “from the Local Committee of Coalición Canaria in Yaiza we understand that this plot must become municipal property to guarantee its public use, but we deeply regret that Óscar Noda's negligence has prevented it to date and, what is even more serious, that he has hidden information from the public with the sole objective of not evidencing his negligent action.”
