The candidate of the Canarian Coalition to the City Council of Yaiza, Emilio Machín, demands that the mayor of UPY, Óscar Noda, be "consistent with his discourse of transparency and institutional dignity and dismiss Javier Camacho, the councilor who spent more than 7,000 euros, 7,317 exactly, on mobile telephony while he was traveling."

Machín considers that if, after what happened, "the councilor responsible for Festivities does not hand over the act of his own free will, the mayor, who was aware of events that occurred under his responsibility, must dismiss him.”

As the nationalist councilor points out, “as of today there are proven facts that admit no doubt: the councilor for Festivities, while supposedly on a cruise, used his mobile phone, whose bill is paid by the City Council every month, and made that exorbitant expense.”

An expense that, Machín emphasizes, “attributed to a oversight with data roaming, and justified by saying that he was working for the Consistory during his vacation.”

The CC candidate adds that, after learning of this exorbitant payment, he tried to find out the details of it, but "there was no way."

“No one from the government, neither the mayor nor his UPY councilors, provided the documentation that we requested on several occasions and through various channels, denying our right to access public information”, Machín asserts, also stating that “the response he gave in the plenary session was to get out of the way in the face of the pressure to which he is being subjected by public opinion. It was not very credible and not at all convincing.”

Emilio Machín, CC candidate, concludes by saying that “this type of behavior is inadmissible, there is no possible justification. As representatives of this institution, our duty is to condemn them and demand that responsibilities be clarified, out of respect for all the citizens of Yaiza, who are the ones who elected us.”
