Coalición Canaria (CC) San Bartolomé denounces that "the mismanagement of the socialist municipal government led by Mayor Isidro Pérez will force the City Council to return one million euros to the Cabildo de Lanzarote for failing to execute two projects financed by the island Corporation".

"He spends all day complaining about a lack of funding, but it turns out that now the mayor's incompetence will force the City Council to return 200,000 euros to the Cabildo of Lanzarote, which it transferred for the expansion of the municipal cemetery of San Bartolomé, and another 800,000 euros for the improvement of Carretera de las Playas street in Playa Honda," points out the CC spokesperson in the Consistory, David Rocío.In this regard, Rocío accuses the socialist municipal government of "inaction, slowness, and an alarming dereliction of duty," pointing out that "while the mayor frequently appears in the media complaining that the Cabildo is not giving him funds, the reality is that by not meeting the deadlines, even after requesting an extension and modifying the projects, the City Council will now be forced to return those funds to the Cabildo again."

From CC San Bartolomé, they recall that "this is not the first time this lack of responsibility from the governing group led by Isidro Pérez has occurred. In July 2024, David Rocío already warned publicly that the City Council would have to return 400,000 euros due to the mayor's neglect in the reception of a work in the historic center of San Bartolomé, which affected Párroco San Martín street and León y Castillo square".

The Canarian nationalist party demands that Isidro Pérez, as they did at the time, "give clear public explanations on why both projects have not materialized, and calls for measures to be taken so that more public funds are not committed without a guarantee of execution." "The public cannot afford for such relevant funds to be paralyzed by poor planning or negligent management," warns RocíoFinally, Coalición Canaria San Bartolomé calls on the Cabildo of Lanzarote to "closely monitor these returns and thus ensure that these resources are available again for viable and urgent projects, instead of being lost due to the repeated negligence shown by Isidro Pérez as mayor."
